James Thomas Cooper was convicted of breaking machinery during the Winchester riots as well as in other parts of the country.

James Thoms Cooper was executed with Henry Cook. After their bodies were removed from the scaffold, there were written in large letters behind it, 'Murder for murder, and blood for blood'.
